Giving Back
Our business was founded on the belief that raising the bar on affordable housing strengthens the fabric of our society. This remains one of our core values. We also believe in giving back to our communities. Our firm has been involved in many initiatives over the years, including:
- Annual college scholarship funds for local high schools (established in 1992)
- Pro bono services to repair and maintain local parks and religious institutions
Youth Build Programs (on-site education for young people)- An L+M "Big Brother" program to mentor minority-owned developers and subcontractors
- Ongoing financial support to community-based nonprofit and charitable housing organizations
- Initiated and financially supported developer grants to the Harlem-based Elementary Schools for K2 Reading Program
- Contributed to rebuild the Harlem Little League field (through nonprofit RBI)
